“Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t want me” – Juan Cuadrado rules out Saudi Pro League transfer this summer
When asked about his goals for the upcoming season, Juan Cuadrado joked that Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t want him to join the Saudi Pro League. As of this month, the former Chelsea star is a free agent after contract talks with Juventus ended in failure.
From 2017 until 2023, the Colombian international played for the Old Lady in 314 total matches. To help Juventus win 11 trophies, including five Serie A championships, the 35-year-old scored 26 goals and added 65 assists.
Cuadrado responded (via GOAL) when asked about a possible transfer to the Saudi Pro League for a large sum of money:
“Right now, I still have the drive, and I enjoy competing. What’s more, Ronaldo is already down there, and he doesn’t want me!
He elaborated by saying:
I am calmly considering my options and praying to God for guidance. Andrey Martinez, my agent, was in Europe and just returned to begin our discussion of several matters. There are, of course, alternatives; we’ll evaluate them all and settle on the best.
Al-Nassr, based in Riyadh, is the team that Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays for. He signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Knights of Najd in January and has been performing well so far. In 19 games last year, he contributed 14 goals and two assists as Al-Nassr placed second in the league.
