On the Arsenal website, a picture of Jurrien Timber wearing the home uniform was leaked. Accidentally, the Gunners uploaded Timber’s banner.
While the club promptly removed the banner, observant fans spotted it and downloaded it. Since then, the image has circulated throughout social media.
Reportedly, a contract for Timber has been finalized, and a medical examination has also been conducted. However, the Gunners have yet to disclose anything, as they never do so before all negotiations have been finalized.
Timber, a Dutch international soccer player, has already left the Netherlands. The player’s family reportedly threw him a farewell celebration as well. Timber, 22 years old, made 47 total appearances for Ajax during the 2022-23 season. He will reportedly ink a contract worth €40 million with Arsenal until 2028. In addition, the player will receive a €5 million signing incentive.
The Gunners’ defense line already includes players such as William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Jakub Kiwior. A central defender who is skilled with the ball, such as Timber, will bolster Mikel Arteta’s collection of skills.
Ben Jacobs provided an update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni
The Gunners have been linked with a surprise approach for Aurelien Tchouameni. The Frenchman joined Real Madrid last season and has since made 50 appearances across all competitions, registering four assists for Los Blancos.
Along with Eduardo Camavinga and the newly-signed Jude Bellingham, he is widely regarded as the future anchor of Real Madrid’s midfield. Ben Jacobs, a journalist, provided an update on Tchouameni’s possible relocation to the Emirates.
Granit Xhaka has departed for Bayer Leverkusen, and Thomas Partey’s future with the club is uncertain. While the Gunners are close to finalizing a deal for Declan Rice, Tchouameni is unlikely to relocate to north London, according to Jacobs.
Regarding the issue, Jacobs stated (via Six Sports):
“I don’t see Tchouameni coming to the Premier League this window. I think from Arsenal’s point of view, it’s very possible that they add another midfielder, especially if Partey goes. And he does have an offer on the table from Saudi .”
“But because Xhaka went to Leverkusen, then T Partey, if he goes too, Arsenal will free up that midfield to bring in one more. And I think, rather than Tchouameni, it’s probably Lavia that might be one to watch.”
This season, Arsenal returns to the UEFA Champions League. In addition, Mikel Arteta’s squad is eager to improve upon its second-place Premier League finish in 2022-23. Consequently, they are taking the essential steps on the transfer market.
