Wilmington mall shooting today, Shooter reported at Wilmington’s Independence Mall

On Saturday around 2:00 p.m., Wilmington police were called to the Independence Mall for a shooting.
According to a spokesman for the Wilmington Police Department, nobody was hurt in the shooting. The suspect has not yet been located by police.
Security personnel have set up shop at the mall.
The WECT team is en route to the crime scene.
After gunfire erupted outside Independence Square on a Saturday afternoon, riots broke out.
At about 2:15 p.m., the mall had to call the police. Lt. Greg Willett of the Wilmington Police Department responded to a report of gunfire near the entrance to the food court. According to Willett, nobody was hurt.
He also claimed ignorance of the incident’s motive and casualty toll. Since 3 p.m. on Saturday, he has been unable to provide any new details about the criminal.
Wilmington Police and New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office have multiple teams here. In addition, shopping centers were ordered to clear their buildings.
Willett reported that no one was hurt in the shooting, though he couldn’t say exactly where it happened in the mall.
